How to keep the stubborn grays at your roots from reappearing quickly

The wiry nature of gray hairs makes them more resistant to color. People with gray hair tend to go too dark, so regrowth is very visible. The key is to think softer, not darker. If you have a small number of gray, blend them in with highlights, which will create a gentler, camouflaging effect. If you need more coverage, choose a permanent formula about two shades lighter than your natural base color that will soften as it covers.
